▶ Does the RxISK site comply with the US Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)?
The RxISK site is owned and operated by Data Based Medicine Americas Ltd. (DBM). DBM is incorporated under the laws of Canada and does not have a physical presence in any country other than Canada. Consequently, DBM is subject to the laws of Canada and not other jurisdictions.
The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (abbreviated PIPEDA or PIPED Act) is a Canadian law relating to data privacy. It governs how private sector organizations collect, use and disclose personal information in the course of commercial business. DBM complies with this law.
DBM is committed to user privacy and has in place strict data security policies and measures, and ensures that users control access to their information. We let users know what information we collect when they use RxISK, how we use it, and how we keep it safe. Users choose who views or adds information to their profile, and they can revoke access at any time.
There is no advertising in RxISK. We do not sell personally identifiable user health information, and we do not share it with other individuals or services unless a user explicitly authorizes us to do so, or in the limited circumstances described in our privacy policy.
